My first trial for the 4-step Korean skin care routine.
I have combination skin. Dry on my O-zone, and oily on my T-zone. I suffer discoloration under my eyes and on the side of my nose. I have small pimples on my forehead and chin. This never ever happened to me during my high school and college days. Adult life stressed me out entirely!
- Cleanser: The Faceshop Rice Water Bright Cleansing Foam
- Exfoliation: Skinfood Black Honey Sugar Scrub (Weekly)
- Toner: Celeteque Oil Control Toner
- Moisturizer: Nature Republic Aloe 92%
F – Fail!
My cheek pores were leaking out sebum after using this regimen. Total fail on my part! First, the cleanser has a high PH level that would totally wreck your skin. I fail to research on that part because I was blindly following a certain beauty bloggers recommendation. Having a high PH level on skin means its acidic and was the prime reason why I could not wear my Sunnies Specs.
Second, the Toner has a high level of alcohol in the ingredient list. I thought stripping oil out of my face was the best thing to do, but its actually destroying my skin. It’s over-exfoliation and that can lead to a lot of problems.
And what’s worse? The Moisturizer I’m using was actually drying than calming. I am so shocked to find this one out because the aloe gel was highly recommended by Youtube Vloggers.
I’ll be changing my regimen for the next weeks, and this time recommendations from veteran beauty junkies.
For now I am making sure the PH level of my skin reverts back to normal by doing nothing and putting nothing.
I’ll use my cleanser as a makeup brush cleaner instead, I’ll throw away my toner too to avoid using it. I’m not sure what to do for my aloe vera gel, it’s so soothing but had alcohol content in it. Maybe I’ll pat it on my elbows and knees.
